Ευθύμιος Καραμπέτσος

Efthymios Karabetsos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1969. He received the Electrical Engineer Diploma in 1992 and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering in 1998, from the Electrical and Computers Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens. From 2000, he is the Head of the Non Ionizing Radiation Office of the Greek Atomic Energy Commission. He is a member of the International Advisory Committee of the International EMF Project of the World Health Organization and a member of the IEEE International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety (ICES). In 2011, he became a member of the European Commissionʼs DG SANCO expert group of stakeholders on electromagnetic fields. He also acts as national delegate to CENELEC, IEC and European Commissionʼs meetings and activities. He also participates in several national and european expert groups concerning electromagnetic safety, radiation policies and electrotechnical standardization. His expertise and his research interests include electromagnetic fields measurements, interlaboratory comparison programmes, bioelectromagnetics and biomedical engineering. He has authored or coauthored several papers in scientific journals and conferences proceedings. He is a Senior member of IEEE, member of the Bioelectromagnetics Society, member of the European Bioelectromagnetics Association and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece. He is assessor of the Hellenic Accreditation Council in the field of electromagnetic fields measurements.
